2010 RABC

I downloaded my application the other day and it looks like I need to send documentation this year even though I've been renewing since 2007.

I don't see the phrase, "if you have received a CANPASS RABC permit in the last three years you do not need to submit copies of identification."

In fact it states, "submit identification every time you apply for an RABC Permit."

Not that it's a big deal but I almost sent it out assuming it was the same regarding renewing without docs.

Does anyone know if a Passport Card is good for primary ident?

New Photo Contest Process

Discussion Board Photographers....

We decided to "pre-post" each month's photo theme for the rest of 2010. In doing this, we hope to give everyone who will be going on a trip this season an opportunity to plan for specific photo opportunities for each month's theme.

Tom's posted each of the month's threads, and the threads will be set at read-only until the first of that month, when the thread will be unlocked, and posting can begin. So feel free to preview each month's theme, get your game plans ready and your photo checklist packed for this year's trip.

Have any of you tried these?

I bought some of these a couple of years ago after reading an article in the BWJ, spring 2008 issue. I took some with me on a trip to Saganagons in June 2008. The water temps were cold and water depths were high. I started fishing other lures at the start of the trip and was not having any luck at all. On the second day I switched to these Zulu 5 inch shad baits and started catching Walleye.
I used a #1 hook and a small split shot above the hook a couple of inches. I have never really gotten into jigging much so I was a little hesitant. After just a couple of minutes I felt a tug and had the first walleye in the boat. I caught 3 or 4 in the same spot and all were around 24".

I primary used this soft bait the rest of the trip even catching a couple nice smallmouth around some structure with them. On our way out, just down stream from Silver Falls, in the very narrow area, we caught more walleye. Two very nice ones around 27".

The only reason I posted this is because I'm getting cabin fever and just ordered 6 more packages of these things and I cant wait to use these in June. I was just curious if anyone else has used these and how your results were.

Permit availability

I cannot determine a date for a Quetico or BWCA trip for a few more weeks. Sports schedules kind of lock us in to the last part of July first part of August. What are the chances of getting permits for either the Q or BWCA if I wait until mid-March? I was really hoping for a first time Quetico trip this year, but am guessing those time slots will be filled by now. I will settle for a BWCA trip if it is the only option. Any input?
